Bambi donated 11 tonnes of products to socially vulnerable individuals
Požarevac, December 30, 2021 – By planting 300 evergreen and deciduous trees, the City of Požarevac and Bambi launched a project of restoring and refurbishing the former “Bambi park”. During their growth, these 300 new trees will release enough oxygen annually for 150 four-member families. The ambitious venture of restoring “Bambi park” also includes construction of entertainment and exercise elements, with the first results visible next May.
“Požarevac is our home, and you always treat home with respect and pride. With the “Bambi park“ restoration project, we will expand green areas and enable citizens to enjoy pleasant surroundings, while also sending a strong message to young generations about the importance of responsible treatment of environment and promoting volunteerism and significance of exercise and healthy lifestyles. We are glad that we share the vision of a better and more sustainable city with Bambi and I believe that, as before, we will work as partners on a better future for the generations to come,” said Saša Pavlović, Požarevac Mayor.
For more than a half a century, Bambi has been a reliable partner of the local community, viewing its success not only through financial results, but also through a prism of employee satisfaction and prosperity of the community where it operates.
“Just like we have been a synonym for happiness and childhood until now, we want to provide future generations with an opportunity for a better future through sustainable and responsible business operations. Therefore, environmental protection is in our focus, and planting of the first 300 trees is only the first in a range of initiatives we are planning for the upcoming period, in addition to the summer stage reconstruction, sports field construction from recycled materials, etc.,” noted Ivan Jovanović, Public Relations Manager in Bambi.
Environmental protection is of exceptional importance, especially bearing in mind that Serbia has recently closed Cluster 4, which includes Chapter 27 on environmental protection and climate change. Local initiatives such as the “Bambi park“ restoration and strong local collaboration between the private and public sectors are a strong message of commitment of all stakeholders to sustainable and green solutions, as well as an important step on the road to joining Europe’s family of peoples.”
